RIVER RULES! WITH CAP'N gREG (EPISODES #1 THROUGH #5)
Corps of Engineers Disposition Study
HELD (2) PUBLIC MEETINGS in August, 2019
UPDATE: The original Corps of Engineers Disposition Study has been reconfigured, separating the study of the Upper St. Anthony Lock and Dam from the combined study of the Lower St. Anthony Lock and Dam and the Ford Dam.
The Corps of Engineers has begun a Disposition Study to determine what will happen to the three Minneapolis Dams (Upper St. Anthony Falls, Lower St. Anthony Falls, and Lock and Dam 1, also known as Ford Dam).
The Disposition Study for the Upper St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam has been separated from the other two downriver dams, due to direction from Congress. Public meetings for this first study took place in August of 2019. The study for the remaining (2) locks and dams will follow in 2020 and later.
The downstream impact of disposition/removal of Lock and Dam 1 will vary greatly in both scope and character from the impact of the two St. Anthony Falls facilities. READ MORE.
